Selon Wikipedia: " a blood diamond (also called a conflict diamond or a war diamond ) is a diamond mined in a war zone and sold, usually clandestinely, in order to finance an insurgent or invading army's war efforts .

To Boss or not to boss ?

Bear is Cool has some pretty good quotes on the issue. Thank you Olivier for that! The question "to boss or not to boss?" is a little bit flawed as the main challenge resides mainly in the leadership skills and abilities. I've been doing some readings on leadership and I strongly recommend the following books: The first 90 days : Critical Success Strategies for New Leaders at All Levels, from Michael Watkins. Right from the Start : Taking Charge in a New Leadership from Dan Ciampa and Michael Watkins. Tags: Business , leadership

Happy Kwanzaa

" Kwanzaa (or Kwaanza ) is a week-long Pan-African secular holiday primarily honoring African-American heritage. It is observed from December 26 to January 1 each year, almost exclusively in the US. Kwanzaa consists of seven days of celebration, featuring activities such as candle-lighting and pouring of libations , and culminating in a feast and gift-giving. It was founded by Ron Karenga , and first celebrated from December 26, 1966, to January 1, 1967. Karenga calls Kwanzaa the African American branch of "first fruits" celebrations of classical African cultures. The Upside of Investing in African Markets

Image
Extraits: " Average annual GNP growth in African countr...

Quick hits on Nigerian politics - 24/12/2006

Some interesting links on Nigerian politics. The debate has heated up between the President Obasanjo and his cronies against the Vice-President Abubakar. Atiku Abubakar will run for the presidential election under the flag of the opposition party Action Congress (AC). Against him and among many others, we'll see Umaru Musa Yar'Adua running under the PDP colors (the party of Obasanjo). Abubakar was suspended from the PDP earlier this year and is under investigation for alleged corruptions charges. The last episode of this political soap occured when Nigeria's government has announced that President Olusegun Obasanjo is to replace Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. (via BBC ). Regarding the presidential possibles we may have a ticket Yar'Adua-Jonathan running against a combo Abubakar-Duke. (via Reuters ) " Nigerian ruling party presidential candidate Umaru Yar'Adua said on Sunday Goodluck Jonathan, governor of Bayelsa state in the oil-producing Niger Delta, would be...
