Forget your traditional attire when going to a 5-stars hotel

Rigoberta Menchu, the Nobel peace prize laureate, dressed in a traditional Mayan attire was mistaken for a bag lady at a 5-stars hotel in Cancun. The newspaper The Guardian reported the incident. "Commentators noted the irony of upmarket resorts discriminating against real Maya while trying to attract tourists with fake Mayan architecture and spectacles."

Sad, but in Cameroon if you go to so called "posh" places you might also get funny looks if you're dressed with a Kaba Ngondo. They won't try to throw you out, but still you'll get these looks.
